{"id":42415,"date":"2015-05-29T08:03:03","date_gmt":"2015-05-29T06:03:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beta.next-finance.net\/innovation\/nomura-launches-usd-and-eur-hedged-jpx-nikkei-400-ucits-etfs\/"},"modified":"2015-05-29T08:03:03","modified_gmt":"2015-05-29T06:03:03","slug":"nomura-launches-usd-and-eur-hedged-jpx-nikkei-400-ucits-etfs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/beta.next-finance.net\/en\/innovation\/nomura-launches-usd-and-eur-hedged-jpx-nikkei-400-ucits-etfs\/","title":{"rendered":"Nomura launches USD and EUR-hedged JPX-Nikkei 400 UCITS ETFs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The investment objective of the funds is to track the performance of the recently launched <strong>JPX-Nikkei 400 Total Return<\/strong> US dollar and Euro-hedged indices.<br \/>\n<quote>Offered in EUR\u2013hedged and USD-hedged formats, the ETFs will allow investors to gain exposure to Japanese<br \/>\nequities, while reducing the impact on their portfolios of potential JPY depreciation against<br \/>\nthose currencies.<\/quote><br \/>\nThe <strong>JPX-Nikkei 400 Total Return Index<\/strong> spearheads a new generation of benchmarks, with<br \/>\nthe objective of increasing the appeal of Japanese equities by including companies with high<br \/>\nand sustainable dividend yields; encouraging better corporate governance and capital<br \/>\nefficiency. <\/p>\n<p>The selection criteria are based on return on equity, governance, size and liquidity.<\/p>\n<p>The index is calculated on a free-float adjusted market capitalisation weighted basis.<\/p>\n<p>The ETFs are part of Nomura\u2019s US$52.7 billion NEXT FUNDS range, which offer physical<br \/>\nreplication of benchmark indices in various asset classes.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>These additions represent a further step in the international expansion of NEXT FUNDS into the UCITS ETF market, following the launch in January of the \u201cNomura Nikkei 225 Euro -Hedged UCITS ETF\u201d and the \u201cNomura Nikkei 225 UCITS US Dollar -Hedged ETF\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Mike Ward, Head of Equity Sales, EMEA, at Nomura, said: <em>\u201cThese new ETFs provide bestin-class access to Japanese equities for our international clients, while allowing them to<br \/>\nhedge currency risk.
