The election took place at the Board of Supervisors meeting in Luxembourg on 5 November and the successful candidates, who will serve a term of 2\u00bd years beginning on 1 December 2015, are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Lourdes Centeno, Comisi\u00f3n Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV), Spain \u2013 new member;<\/li>\n<li> Klaus Kumpfm\u00fcller, Finanzmarktaufsicht (FMA), Austria \u2013 ending first term and re-elected; and<\/li>\n<li> Elisabeth Roegele, Bundesanstalt f\u00fcr Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht (BaFin), Germany \u2013 new member.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The outgoing members were Kostas Botopoulos from the Hellenic Capital Markets Commission (HCMC) of Greece, and Martin Wheatley of the UK\u2019s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).<\/p>\n<p>The Management Board, chaired by Steven Maijoor, Chair of ESMA, is responsible for ensuring that the Authority carries out its mission and performs the tasks assigned to it under the Regulation. The Management Board now consists of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Steven Maijoor, European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA);<\/li>\n<li> Elisabeth Roegele, Bundesanstalt f\u00fcr Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht (BaFin), Germany;<\/li>\n<li> Cyril Roux, Central Bank of Ireland (CBI), Ireland;<\/li>\n<li> Lourdes Centeno, Comisi\u00f3n Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV), Spain;<\/li>\n<li> G\u00e9rard Rameix, Autorit\u00e9 des March\u00e9s Financiers (AMF), France;<\/li>\n<li> Klaus Kumpfm\u00fcller, Finanzmarktaufsicht (FMA), Austria; and<\/li>\n<li> Marek Szuszkiewicz, Komisja Nadzoru Finanswego (KNF), Poland.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The European Securities and Markets Authority has elected three new members to its Management Board to replace outgoing members whose term expires in November this year.
