And European equities as well, which we have<br \/>\nupgraded to over-weight after yesterday\u2019s results.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been convinced by the macro-economic environment and the profits<br \/>\ndynamism shown by European companies for some time now. Having said that, in<br \/>\nour view political uncertainties have deterred foreign investors in particular from<br \/>\nincreasing their commitments in Europe. After the elections in the Netherlands and<br \/>\nAustria, coupled with AfD\u2019s falling poll ratings in Germany, the first ballot in France<br \/>\nsuggests that the populists have been losing considerable ground in 2017. Despite<br \/>\nall the challenges that still lie ahead, at the end of this year Europe could be much<br \/>\nmore stable than it was in January.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLooking at France our optimism is a bit muted. A lot depends on the outcome of the<br \/>\nparliamentary election and how this outcome supports Macron\u2019s mandate. So far he<br \/>\ncan neither rely on an own party or vast political experience.
