{"id":84384,"date":"2019-12-13T00:56:31","date_gmt":"2019-12-12T23:56:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/beta.next-finance.net\/news\/muzinich-co-announces-first-close-of-european-senior-secured-private-debt-fund\/"},"modified":"2019-12-13T00:56:31","modified_gmt":"2019-12-12T23:56:31","slug":"muzinich-co-announces-first-close-of-european-senior-secured-private-debt-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/beta.next-finance.net\/en\/news\/muzinich-co-announces-first-close-of-european-senior-secured-private-debt-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"Muzinich &#038; Co announces first close of European Senior Secured Private Debt Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em> <strong>Muzinich &#038; Co has announced the first close of the Muzinich European Senior Secured Private Debt Fund (\u201cthe Fund\u201d), at \u20ac104mm.<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Fund focuses on providing growth financing solutions for European middle-market companies and explicitly incorporates environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations and monitoring into the investment process.<\/p>\n<p>With a target net return of Euribor plus 4%, the Fund will predominantly invest in euro-denominated senior-secured 1st lien debt issued by European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) (excluding the UK).<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSenior-secured debt instruments offer investors a lower-risk approach to private debt investing,\u201d<\/em> said Sandrine Richard, Co-Head of Senior Secured, Europe. <em>\u201cThese instruments tend to have statistically higher recovery rates, possess superior documents and provide strong covenant protection.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cMuzinich has been a signatory to the PRI since 2010 and is applying experience gained from integrating ESG considerations into the public debt investment process to our latest private debt strategy,\u201d<\/em> added Archie Beeching, Director of Responsible Investment. <em>\u201cWe believe that systematic inclusion of ESG into the due diligence process, investment committee meetings and portfolio company engagements will make a positive contribution to this Fund.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Muzinich has been providing flexible financing solutions to SMEs since 2014.
