Process for project evaluation and selection, 3. Management of proceeds and 4. Reporting), in accordance with<br \/>\nthe 2018 Green Bond Principles and the 2017 Green Bond Guidelines. NTT Group\u2019s green bond has received a Second-Party<br \/>\nOpinion from Sustainalytics to ensure the framework conforms to the 2018 Green Bond Principles by ICMA and the 2020 Green<br \/>\nBond Guidelines by the Ministry of the Environment. The company has received a GA1 rating]] issue valued at 40 billion yen for NTT Finance Corporation. Nomura acted as bookrunner and green bond structuring<br \/>\nagent[[A green bond structuring agent supports the issuance of green bonds by advising issuers on the development of a green<br \/>\nbond framework and on obtaining a second-party opinion.]] for the offering, which was the first such offering for the company.<\/p>\n<p>The NTT Group CSR Charter sets out the key principles that drive NTT Group\u2019s CSR initiatives<br \/>\nand underpin its commitment to building a sustainable society. Guided by these principles, NTT<br \/>\nGroup is working to resolve social challenges through its business activities and create a safe and<br \/>\nsecure environment where people interact positively with society and nature.<\/p>\n<p>A key focus for the group is protecting the environment through ongoing initiatives. In keeping with<br \/>\nthis commitment, NTT Group has developed the NTT Group Green Bond Framework with<br \/>\nNomura\u2019s support.<\/p>\n<p>The proceeds from the offering will be used to invest in the development of green buildings by<br \/>\nNTT Urban Development, one of the green projects included in the NTT Group Green Bond<br \/>\nFramework, as well as to refinance existing investments.<\/p>\n<p>The Nomura Group ESG Statement was published in January last year. The purpose of this<br \/>\nstatement is to further promote the realization of a sustainable environment and society by<br \/>\ninforming stakeholders about the firm\u2019s approach to ESG-related activities and its envisaged<br \/>\nresponse to environmental and social risks.<\/p>\n<p>The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have gained widespread recognition in recent years.<br \/>\nAs part of this, green bonds aimed at addressing environmental issues, social bonds that target<br \/>\nsocial outcomes, and sustainability bonds used for both social and green projects have been<br \/>\nattracting attention globally.<\/p>\n<p>By underwriting these types of bonds, Nomura aims to support the growth of the SDG bond market<br \/>\nin Japan, and serve as a bridge between investors who want to contribute to society and projects<br \/>\nwith capital needs that aim to resolve social issues such as climate change.
